It is the 12th November and I am sitting in the gallery in a T-shirt writing this with the door wide open. I can’t believe how warm it has been for the last couple of days. This morning I watched a Peacock Butterfly flying around my garden. He seemed to be looking for somewhere safe to overwinter and was checking out the gaps between the logs of my woodpile. I will have to keep a careful eye out for him when it gets colder and we start the wood burner up. more
This is the first of what I hope will be many pieces I will be writing over the coming years for the website. My hope is to chart the changing seasons and natural history that surrounds me here on the south coast of Cornwall and to write about my travels to other wild places around the world. I hope to give a feel for what it is like to work as a wildlife photographer and filmmaker. more
I have filmed and photographed Otters in Shetland on several trips over the last few years. I think it is simply the best place in Britain to see and photograph these fantastic creatures. All of the Otter pictures on this website were taken in Shetland over a two week period two winters ago. more
This two week expedition will go way beyond the usual bounds of tourism. The aim is to experience the Arctic first hand. It will involve travel and camping both on the sea ice and the land at a time of year when we can expect temperatures well below freezing. We will be venturing into extremely remote wilderness out amongst the wildlife where others simply don’t go. more

I am planning a two week expedition to Namibia for November 2011. Through this winter I have been on two filming expeditions to Namibia and was deeply impressed with the wildlife and stunning beauty of the country. Working with my friend Wolfgang Knoepler who lives and works in Namibia we plan to spend several days at Etosha National Park photographing the amazing variety of wildlife before moving south to the Sousesvlei and the incredible orange dunes of Wolwedans. more
